Privacy policy

CareerSeeker is a Windows application that runs on your computer. This policy describes what the current version of the software does with your data.
Data that stays on your machine
- Your resume, profile details, preferences, target roles, compensation preferences, and interview answers.
- Job postings the app discovers from supported job boards.
- Generated materials: tailored resumes, cover letters, prepared answers, company research, and the app's activity log.
- Credentials: your Google authorization tokens and AI provider API keys (Anthropic, Google, or OpenAI), encrypted with Windows DPAPI and stored only on your device.
We operate no servers that store user data, and the application transmits none of the above to us.
Gmail access
The current version creates email drafts in your Gmail account using the gmail.compose authorization. The application only creates drafts: its Gmail interface contains no send operation, so the software cannot send email on your behalf. You review every draft and decide what to send, yourself, in Gmail. Details for security reviewers are on our trust page.
AI providers
To write and verify application materials, the app sends relevant text (such as your resume content and a job posting) to the AI provider you configured (Anthropic's Claude, Google's Gemini, or OpenAI's ChatGPT), using your own API key. That data is governed by your provider's terms, not ours, because the relationship is directly between you and them.
Deleting your data
Because everything lives on your machine, uninstalling CareerSeeker and deleting its data folder removes all of it. There is nothing to request from us, because we never had it.
Future plans
If we introduce a mobile sync relay for the Android dashboard, it will use end-to-end encrypted payloads that we cannot read, and this policy will be updated before that feature ships.
Children
CareerSeeker is a job-application tool intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16.
